Tan Sri Abdul Aziz bin Haji Jaafar was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of Nami Corp on 22 June 2017. He was subsequently appointed as the Chairman of Nami Corp by its Board of Directors on 14 September 2022 and succeeding Tan Sri Ong Tee Keat.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Malacca Economic Council (MAPEN) located in Malaysia. He served as Chief of Navy in the Royal Malaysian Navy from 2008 to 2016 and also held a position in Armed Forces Cooperatives (Koperasi Tentera) as Vice President from 2008 to 2015. His leadership expertise in government bodies and armed forces is eminent to advise compliance-related matters to NAMI Corp.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ong was appointed as the Chairman of Nami Corp by its Board of Directors on 13 December 2016 and stepped down as Chairman on 8 September 2022. His successor Tan Sri Aziz Abdul Hj Jaafar was appointed on 14 September 2022. Upon stepping down as the Chairman of the board, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ong remains active on the board as the Founder, Advisor and Non-Executive Director of the Group.
He started his career in the field of mechanical engineering from 1981 to 1985 before he ventured into politics. At the pinnacle of his political career, he held high-level positions as Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, and Minister of Transport from 1999 to 2010. His vast technical and business acumen drives NAMI Corp.’s overall direction, business, and values to deliver results to its partners and stakeholders.

Mr Lok Khing Ming was appointed as Executive Director of NAMI Corp. on 4 July 2018. He gains his experience in mining when he was General Manager of a gold mining company from 2007 to 2010. His involvement in the mining industry is fundamental to lead NAMI Corp. to be a leading diversified mining group in South East Asia region. His responsibilities in NAMI Corp. include leading the exploration for mining opportunities in and around Malaysia.

Dato’ Nik Ismail was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of NAMI Corp. on 22 June 2017. He served as Chief of Police Officer in Royal Malaysian Police in the State of Terengganu, Kedah and Selangor, Malaysia from 1997 to 2001. Dato’ Nik Ismail is currently Chairman of an investment holding company that focuses on manufacturing of industrial automation systems and machinery, fabrication of industrial and engineering parts as well as the provision of industrial support services. Dato’ Nik Ismail’s wide experience is beneficial to guide NAMI Corp. to be a compliant organisation in the mining industry.
